Because of what happened in Chicago on 1 May 1886, we all stop on May Day to remember those prayed for the dead and fight like hell for the living.
Oh, wait.
We do not honor labor on May Day in the United States.

What some call “emerging” today is really a standard the part of the church of every age and every place. Not to recognize that means you think that faith is not something that is living and growing. Things that are living and growing are dead.

I find some of my environmental stewardship inspiration from one of the verses of the Lorica of Saint Patrick. A lorica is a monastic prayer said for protection. It is interesting where Patrick finds some of that protection.
